King James Place
Legacy, Complete
Project Information
When Woodcliffe began the restoration and redevelopment of King James Place in 1984, this historic section of King Street represented one of the last relatively intact streetscapes in Toronto. It includes seven of Toronto’s oldest buildings, built as early as 1836. The project integrates contemporary elements with the façades, materials, massing, and scale of the original Georgian buildings.
Designed by KPMB Architects, this contemporary building has received countless architectural and design awards in Canada, including the Governor General’s Award for Architecture.
